We have been having some great conversations this week with brothers and sisters in Christ - reminders that Life with Jesus Christ at the centre is marked by His hope, not the cross-your-fingers, tentative optimism that we often hang onto but rather, like so many of God’s gifts, the nature of His hope is simultaneously already and not yet,
Biblical hope is a confident expectation, built on trust in God, and He provides it to us as a a resource to rely on as we are anticipating the things to come even as we have begun to witness their fulfillment.

You may know His Name, but have not responded to His call to follow Him, or maybe you are following Him, yet feeling overwhelmed by challenges, pain, grief, and confusion. May we be found growing in holiness, walking each day in the will of God, friends, we must remain steadfast in prayer as an ongoing conversation with our Heavenly Father, Jesus taught the disciples’ about the end times, and what He said to them is important for us too. May our lives bear the fruit of living by faith in Jesus Christ, may Holy Spirit give us the wisdom and discernment to hear God’s voice and know that this Jesus, the son of God, the One who was and is to come- is the Christ.

The love of God is a sure thing, it does not matter who you are or where you’ve been or what you’ve done friend - you are seen, known and loved by God - stand on that love today. If you have pulled up the anchor and sin has driven you along, Stop. Be reminded that Jesus’ crucifixion on the cross brings transformation, redemption and reconciliation to God.

We are past the middle of August and the winding down of summer days has begun. Possibly you’ve sought out the steadfast calm of Holy Spirit in these tumultuous times because you find yourself with a hope and desire to crave and want God more than the other offerings of this world. As believers in Christ we know what will get us there – surrender to God. We know that reading and studying our Bible everyday, praying with Holy Spirit throughout each day, will grow our relationship with Jesus, and when we long to know Him it takes no effort to include the Lord in every single aspect of our walk on His earth.

This week has had some moments …. Beautiful and ugly - and God is present, compassionate and merciful through all of them. When we are trying to stand on loose gravel all we will see is the world’s version of knowledge and hear chaotic theories about the days of tribulation and affliction, opinions that are causing confusion, anxiety, anguish, and fear. The solution in these unstable times is not to heed the prophets of chaos but instead direct our thoughts and keep our focus firmly on Jesus Christ, the Rock of our salvation.

Let us rise each day, to take up the Lord’s cross. May we be found with our hands open and our answer: "yes Lord, what next?". His Commission is not merely a suggestion but a divine commandment. The world yearns for the Saviour, the Christ, and by the wisdom, power and discernment of Holy Spirit we are to fulfill the commission that is entrusted to the family of Jesus.

This world is in the grip of the birth pangs of tribulation, we have been given time - in fact thousands of years - to repent and be reconciled to God by turning to Jesus as our Savior and Lord and while we might comfort ourselves with the thought that we can delay the choice until a future moment - do not be fooled - the Christ is coming.
